The Barrhead Bombers did well on earning its first sweep of a three game set over the Cold Lake Hornets this past weekend. After picking up nine total points, Barrhead has now a 7-point clearance on the Hornets for third place in the Provincial Division.
Forward Carter Zawortny scored a hat trick, and had registered points in all three games against the Hornets.
The Bombers face three more games against as many opponents including two home games and a trip to the Murray Rec. Center. Tomorrow, the Bombers will host division leaders, Edson Aeros. On Saturday, the team will visit Hinton Timberwolves for the penultimate time this year. On Sunday, the first of March, Cold Lake Hornets come to town.
The Bombers have a decent chance at staying in third place—should the trajectory persist—since the Hornets must face Edson three more times, Hinton one more time, and a final round against your Bombers.
Should the playoffs begin today, the Bombers will face Hinton in a three game series at the Murray Rec. Center. Affording a regular season win over them in the final two games scheduled can be huge for the team, as it hasn't been able defeat them all season.

Bombers in the postseason
Though it may be the first season in Barrhead, the Bombers have success in the postseason over the last four years when the team was located in Long Beach, Calif. The Bombers Hockey Club has four straight Western Division Titles, and four trips to the Thorne Cup.
Fun Fact: The Bombers organization won the first two Thorne Cups ever awarded when the inaugural Anaheim Jr. Ducks won back-to-back titles in 1993 and 1995.
