The Barrhead Bombers are approaching the end of the regular season, and are in third place with 27-points, just one more than the third placed Hornets. The Bombers are hoping to bounce-back after pushing the Hinton Timberwolves to overtime for the first time in 2019-2020, and nearly completing the upset.
Although Barrhead ultimately endured the loss, it made great strides in achieving its closest game against a divisional power house. Stran Backfat Redcrow played out to be the the starlet for the Bombers, as he scored both goals to take a 2-1 lead. It marked the first time that Hinton played from behind against the Bombers. The Timberwolves were ultimately able to beat Brock Machholz in overtime to reach the 3(OT)-2 final.
In two games, Maccholz is 0W-1L-1OTL, and already has faced 101 shots. Hinton would eventually shutout the Bombers on Sunday, as they skated to the 5-0 victory.
Barrhead will be at home for the next four games with the Cold Lake Hornets paying a visit to Barrhead Agrena for three games, and the Edson Aeros once, on the 27th.
The Bombers boast back-to-back wins over the Cold Lake Hornets defeating them 5-3 in their two prior meetings. Carter Zawortny registered 3G-3A-6P in those two games.
